Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Sani Nanono, has said that there is no hunger in Nigeria as he spoke on Monday at a briefing to mark the 2019 World Food Day in Abuja.
He said Nigeria had attained self-sufficiency and would feed its neighbours with ease.
He said, “I think we are producing enough to feed ourselves. I think there is no hunger in Nigeria.
“When people talk about hunger in this government, I just laugh.
“In this country, it is fairly cheap to buy food.
I can't make myself to believe that such a statement will come from minister of agriculture, he should be in the best position to know the level of hunger in Nigeria, instead he lies to cover up his short coming.
There are thousands of Nigerians who can not afford two meals talk less of having a good meal. Children are hungry because their parents have no jobs or their parents have not been paid for months. Lots of things need to be put in place, all we need do is hard work, stop the lies and deceit.
