There are statistics to back up this assertion for almost the same number of people, for example, in Ghana who have been infected with the Coronavirus, only 22 deaths have been recorded in Ghana compared with abouit 180 people in Nigeria.
Now to start with, we must thank the BDF because they did a very good job, they putting themselves in harm’s way and also we must thank the nurses and doctors who are risking their lives to keep the rest of us save, so Nigerians should appreciate this kind of people doing this work which even makes them far better than politicians who are sitting there stealing people’s money. However, more will still need to be done to stop this virus from spreading, there is evidence of in massive spread, which you cannot actually know until after some time. This is because when Nigerians fall sick, they hardly to go to the hospital or contact the right agencies, they normally go to church, the closing of churches at this point is a step in the right direction because a lot of the people believe in prayer, which is imperative to curb whatever crisis they have. So if people run churches at this time, they’re going to infect everybody in the church. So we support the closure of religious centers right now. Even the mountains should be closed, because that’s where a lot of people will run to when they are faced with any crisis.
Nigerians are dying more than other nations right now especially in Africa, more than people in South Africa, Mozambique, Ghana and Togo and all these countries are in relation to the population. So we should avoid more death by following the instructions given.
Right now, we don’t know how much spread we have in Nigeria because most of the time people will not report for religious reasons. So this is why as a nation we have to be careful and be more proactive in our fight against this corner unseen enemy.
